My name is Lisa Hiers, and I will be the school counselor for Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades this year. This is my fourth year as a school counselor, and my fourth year at Lewis! I received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University in 2003. After working in the CIS field for 5 years, I decided to change my career and become a school counselor. I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2010 with a Master’s degree in School Counseling. I also received my Education Specialist degree from the University of West Georgia in July 2015.
I worked as a therapist for three years at Northside Psychological Services, where I provided mental health services to children, adolescents, and families in their homes and schools. I had the privilege of working with students in the Cobb County School District during the 2012-2013 school year. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and am currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
I am very excited to work with you and your child(ren)! Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a fun and successful year!
